These two photos show a large cluster
of Orange Chanterelles.
Notice their curving effect in the lower photo, middle left.
Literally thousands of Chanterelles could be found on this well-manicured
farm lawn.
Here are two close-up photos of
the Orange Chanterelle.
The lower one is extremely gourmet. It was seen quite a distance
from the other patch above.
Here are three photos of Yellow
Chanterelles, followed by a close-up of the underside.
All Chanterelles are edible, but some may not be so "gourmet"
as others.
These are not Chanterelles, but
they cluster individually in groups like Chanterelles.
This is an odd variety of black mushroom. I could find only two
possibilities in my guidebooks:
Old Man Of The Woods (strobilomyces floccopus) or Violet
Cortinarius (cortinarius violaceus).
Both of these dark varieties are considered "edible but with
caution" (whatever that may mean).
The following are close-up photos
of two of these black ones.

To repeat myself:
Use common sense, but beware!
